DSE Assessor Training

The training is carried out on your own premises and includes both 'classroom' and practical work. This helps to ensure that your assessors understand the regulations and the background to the problems they will be identifying and to give them the opportunity to practice assessments and rectify problems in a safe environment.

In addition to course notes, the delegates are given a copy of our 'Step by Step Guide to Setting Up Your Workstation' which illustrates how to achieve the recommended set-up.

This one day course for up to six people allows plenty of time for the trainees to ask questions - one of the important aspects of the training. We ask that you provide a mock-up of a workstation in the training room so that the delegates can set it up for each other and if possible, that you provide access to a real workstation, warts and all, so that they can discuss a real-life situation and carry out an assessment.

We will train assessors to use your forms and procedures or we can provide a tried and tested assessment form which results in a simple record of adjustments and prioritised actions required.

A number of our clients have found it very useful to include IT personnel on the course; increasing awareness of the importance of selecting appropriate equipment for new starters and helping to obtain the right aids when people are experiencing problems.

If you would like to provide awareness training for your managers, so that they are able to work effectively with the assessors in ensuring that ill-health does not arise, or is dealt with rapidly, please get in touch.
